Video Editor

Our busy production team is currently seeking an experienced and talented Video Editor to join us as a Video Editor. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling filmed and recorded video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and producing final, broadcast-quality projects that reflect the production director's vision accurately.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will possess expert knowledge of contemporary video editing techniques, possess the ability to envision directorial concepts, and be capable of working within strict time constraints. Ultimately, our preferred candidate will be a skilled video editor who can effectively translate the client needs into a stunningly crafted film or video piece that meets broadcast standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques.

• Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.

• Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.

• Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.

• An adequate to masterful level of understanding within the realm of graphic animation in After Effects

• Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Thorough understanding of and ability to use basic video production equipment.

• Thorough understanding of artistic styles, techniques, methodologies, and effects used within video production.

• meeting and liaising with clients to discuss briefs, requirements, and project progress

• making technical recommendations

• Keeping up with deadlines and fast turnaround times, and adapt skillset to best suit the due dates as needed

• creating multimedia designs in liaison with animators, programmers, writers, video producers, sound engineers, and artists

• developing and using skills and expertise in appropriate design packages such as Photoshop, In-Design, and After Effects

• Keeping up-to-date with technological and software developments

• Cuts and edits images to remove bad or extraneous footage, to add effects such as graphics or transitions, and to create a professional video product.

• Previous work experience as a video editor.

• Hands-on experience with editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, and Premier Pro.

• Familiarity with 3D composition and special effects.

• Portfolio of completed projects

• Ability to work on a tight schedule.

• Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
